The Hong Kong Jockey Club is delighted to sponsor the Student of the Year Awards in celebration of the remarkable accomplishments of Hong Kong’s youth in their studies, leadership roles, community service and personal growth.
This year’s awards theme – “Building Tomorrow: Growth Through Action” – highlights the importance of students actively participating in their communities to foster innovation, change mindsets and achieve tangible progress for a better future. The Club is excited to see the launch of the Student of the Year Growth Network, which will provide all nominees with eye-opening experiences and exposure to opportunities that inspire them to be among the next generation of leaders.
The Club is dedicated to empowering young people. Indeed, Youth Development & Poverty Alleviation is one of the strategic areas of its charities strategy. Its support encompasses longstanding projects initiated by the Club’s Charities Trust such as CLAP@JC, which assists career and life development, CoolThink@JC, which nurtures student’s digital creativity, and LevelMind@JC, which addresses mental health needs.
In celebration of the Club’s 140th anniversary, the Trust has earmarked an additional HK$1.4 billion to support a series of youth development initiatives, such as establishment of a special fund scheme to expand support for students’ career and life development, and the partial renovation of Youth Square to create a new landmark destination for young people.
Since its establishment in 1884, the Club’s partnership with the community has thrived. Through its unique integrated business model, racing and racecourse entertainment generate tax contributions, charity support and employment opportunities for Hong Kong. Today, the Club’s Charities Trust is one of the world’s leading charity donors.
The Club wishes the Student of the Year Awards and all its participants the very best of success.
